Installation & Configuration
The PAWS software suite consists of several components,
including the client software, MS SQL database,
IIS Webcomponents and shared folders.
We prefer to assist your IT department in setting
up all these components to ensure a trouble-free
integration of the different components.
If preferred, we can also perform the complete setup ourselves
under the watchful eye of your IT administrator.
Data Conversion
Everything related to the audit universe,
is stored in the PAWS database.
This includes the processes or departments,
global risks or entity-specific risks,
control measures, related test, standard steps
within an audit etc.
Your audit department may already have most of
this information available in another format.
For example, audit steps may be listed in an MS Excel sheet;
while the Risks & Controls may be available in an
MS Access database.
We can assist with the data conversion phase, so
that this information does not have to be manually put in
of copied across line per line.
Terminology & Translations
Is an audit an "audit"?
This is not a silly question! Many enterprises
refer to an "audit" as "mission",
"assignment",
"investigation", or
translate it to the local language.
With PAWS, hundreds of terms and "labels"
can be translated through the use of
aliases.
Your PAWS administrator can manually change the aliases,
or if a list of such translations is available, we can assist
in importing that data into the PAWS database.

Report Customisation
All audit related data is stored in the PAWS database.
This includes findings, risk scores, actions, and much more.
We can assist the PAWS administrator building the
desired report with the Report Designer,
bringing out the desired information.
Alternatively, MS Word templates can be used as a basis
for the audit report. In this fashion, your audit reports
can be based on existing report templates. We can build
the MS Word templates to your requirements
Questionnaires
How familiar is the average department manager
with your "risk scoring approach"?
Not very, according to our experience,
resulting in identical risks being scored
differently by different managers or other business users.
Through questionnaires, PAWS allows business users
to answer questions with multiple-choice answers.
The answers are converted into a risk score.
We can assist in defining the questionnaires and the
translation of the answers to risk scores.
